History of foundation and developement
Quang Ninh University of Industry, whose forerunner was Mining Technical School, was established on November 25, 1958 under Decision No. 1630 / BCN of Ministry of Industry; On July 24, 1996 the Prime Minister decided to upgrade the School into a Mining Technical College; On December 25, 2007, the Prime Minister signed the Decision No. 1730 / QD-TTg to upgrade the Mining Technical College to Quang Ninh University of Industry. 
Over 59 years of training, striving and developing, the University has trained 60,000 officials and technical workers, fostered more than 1,000 production commanders for 38 provinces, cities and many ministries and branches; produced nearly one million tons of coal, dug over 10,000 meters of furnace, drilling over 8000 meter, measuring tens of thousands of hectares for provinces,... 
The university has made many outstanding achievements in education and training, and has been awarded many noble awards by the Party and the State: 01 First-class Independence Medal, 01 Second-class Independence Medal; 01 Third-class Independence Medal; 01 First-class Labor Medal; 01 second-class Labor Medal; 02 Third-class Labor Medals; 01 third-class resistance medal; the flag of the Council of Ministers; Flag Nguyen Van Troi of the Central Youth Union; 02 Merit certificates of the Prime Minister; many certificates of merit by the Ministry, the Province; 5 excellent teachers ...

Currently the university has 450 cadres, lecturers, and employees, of which the number of faculty members is 253 people with the following qualifications:
           + Post-graduate: 132 people (including Professor, Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor of Science, Doctorate, Masters), accounting for 51.3% of the total lecturers, of which there are 16 Doctors.
           + Engineer, bachelor of science: 125 people accounting for 48.7%).
           + 41 lecturers graduated and trained abroad in developed industries.

INFRASTRUCTURE
Campus 1: With the land area of ​​10.27 hectares, upgraded convenient transportation system. 
The lecture hall has 80 standard theoretical classrooms, 21 specialized classrooms, including 03 computer labs with over 400 computers in use. The intranet system has been linked to every units; using training management software developed and managed by the University itself. The university has its own website, updated regularly. It also has an ADSL high-speed Internet access port which is connected to the internal network for daily access for staff, teachers, employees and students.
The electrial-mechanic workshop has enough equipment for students to practice at the university.
            Physical education area includes 2 standard football fields.
            The physical training house has 1 volleyball court, 4 Ping-Pong tables and 4 badminton courts with national standards.
            Library and Information Center: regularly using with over 6500 books, more than 50,000 copies, arranged in a 3-storey building with an area of ​​1,475 m2, along with 20 specialized rooms with advanced equipment.
            The dormitory is self-contained, fully furnished, and serves more than 1,500 students.

 
Campus 2: This is expected to be the main office for university and postgraduate training with a land area of ​​50ha, including many construction items for which have been approved by the government with a total investment from 2007 to 2025 of 801 billion VND.

The mission of Quang Ninh University of Industry is to be a multi-major university, creative knowledge and new technologies; train high-quality human resources to meet the industrialization and modernization cause and socio-economic development needs of the Northeast and the whole country.
